Entry from – The Place of Divine Intimacy
An extraordinary, life-changing invitation is sent to everyone. This invitation is like no other. It is exquisite, it is sealed with a promise of certainty, and it holds the highest significance. For some, accepting it can prove challenging. Yet the value of embracing it has long-standing importance and worth, beyond any of its asking. This invitation is without question the most crucial offering extended to us in our lives.
As Christians, we may have seen the great invitation as one which allows us to be joined into God’s family, into forgiveness, into redemption, or the wonder of our ultimate resting place in heaven. However, rather than these incredible blessings being the end place of the invitation, they are the starting place. These individual gems make the way possible so that we may step into the greatest treasure of all.
Unfortunately, we often stop at the point of finding salvation. We can miss the extent of the invitation which calls us to the sacred, holy place of God’s heart and into the big picture of His desire. There are no shortcuts, no allowance for half-heartedness, and it is not of our choosing. Instead, the requirement is to work for His desire alone, and that has remained the same since creation. Yet it took Jesus on earth, His death, and His resurrection, to put into motion all the possibilities of His intent. What was broken is now restored, the seemingly impossible is made achievable, and the invitation is out.
On the cross, Jesus accomplished a new beginning for us. He established an open door that cannot be shut, which invites us to join into rich fellowship with Triune God. Among their company, we find a remarkable, intertwined union of the most profound commitment, limitless love, and joined purpose. Jesus welcomes us into this incredible bond of highest friendship. That bond is His core desire. Entering it satisfies the heart of our God when we, His created, seek to genuinely love and live in beautiful, relational connection with the very One who made us.
